Strategic Studies Centre held a panel discussion on ''The relationship between human rights and government bodies: a futuristic vision.'' this sessions is part of the activities of the Centre derived to discuss issues of concern to Kingdom's foreign policy, and its cooperation with International Affairs, where they discussed the nature of relations between human rights and relevant government bodies, as well as propose mechanisms for cooperation in order to overcome difficulties that may arise during performance of duties, thus contributing to the protection and giving due respect to human rights, and supports Kingdom's international position before any governmental or non governmental human rights organizations.

The session commenced with giving due publicize to human rights, its nature and tasks. The aim to protect and promote human rights in accordance with international human rights standards in all areas, and disseminate awareness, and contribute to ensuring the application in the light of the provisions of Islamic Sharia. The Commission is the competent government, expressing opinion and advice on human rights issues.

The relation between the commission and relevant government bodies were disclosed openly, and current recommendations were discussed in order to activate the role of the commission and its relation with such bodies as per mechanisms and frames stipulated for such relation. Ways of coordination also were discussed, giving special concern to international conventions and conferences related to human rights as agreed upon.

The session was attended by several representatives from a number of government agencies relevant to the commission, including: Justice, Labour, Islamic Affairs, Higher Education, and Social Affairs Ministries and the Shura Council and prosecution of the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice and the National commission for Human Rights. The session was attended by a number of specialists representing the Institute.
